Assessment

Our clinic staff provide comprehensive speech and language assessments. Our speech pathologists provide a combination of standardised and informal tests to gain a thorough understanding of your child’s skills. We assess:

  • Speech sounds
  • Expressive language
  • Receptive Language
  • Pragmatics/Social Skills
  • Literacy
  • Fluency (Stuttering)
  • AAC device trials

Therapy

Our therapists provide evidence-based therapy services that are individualised to your child’s needs.

Therapy sessions are generally 30-minute or 60-minute appointments, and can be offered in clinic, at daycare, kindergarten, or schools, or out in the community. We value a family-centred approach to intervention, working with the client and family to achieve their goals.

Telehealth

Where suitable, clients are able access therapy services in the comfort of their home or community setting via video teleconferencing with the clinic.

We use secure online services to connect the client and therapist. This service is suitable to a range of clients both locally, in rural and remote locations, interstate and international. Telehealth sessions are generally 30-minute or 60-minute appointments.

Fees

Initial Appointment: $250-$300. Includes 1 hour of face-to-face consultation and up to 30 minutes of indirect services (reading child background documents, prepare any resources or assessments for the session, score and interpret assessment results, proposed plan for future sessions).

Direct services (50 minutes)

  • Face-to-face time with Speech Pathologist.
  • Assessments administered for initial consultations or NDIS reviews.
  • Parent discussion regarding child’s needs and goals.
  • Parent capacity building.


Indirect services (15 mins)

  • Session planning including development of short and long term goals.
  • All materials and instructions for homework practise provided in each session.
  • Record keeping in your child’s file following each therapy session.
  • Preparing the clinic room for your appointment/preparing materials for external visits.


Report: Private $210, NDIS $193.99 per hour

  • Analysis and scoring of assessments
  • Individualised therapy recommendations and goal planning
  • Hard copy or electronic copy of report provided


Consultation with other professionals: Private $210, NDIS $193.99 per hour

  • Phone calls with other allied health professionals
  • Care team meetings
  • SSG meetings at schools
  • Writing letters of support

    • If you have private health insurance with extras cover your policy may
      include a rebate for speech pathology services.
    • Greater Geelong Speech Pathology works with plan- and self-managed NDIS participants.
    • Your child may be eligible for a Medicare rebate for Speech Pathology sessions.
